Rate FormulaThe PCRSD uses a rate formula based on water consumption to bill for sewer service. The rate for the current year is to the right. The PCRSD obtains the water consumption for the months of January, February, and March and calculates an average monthly use. That number--commonly referred to as the "winter average"--is then plugged into the rate formula to determine the monthly bill. The sewer service bill is broken into these components:

2023 Sewer RateBase Charge: $33.24
User Fee: $5.00 per 1,000 gallons To calculate the user fee, determine the average water used during January, February, and March of the previous year in gallons. Take the average and divide by 1,000. That new number should then be multiplied by the user fee and added to the base charge. Example: For this example, we will use an average water usage of 4,000 gallons. 4,000 / 1,000 = 4 4 * $5.00 = $20.00 $20.00 + $33.24 = $53.24 The monthly bill in this example would be $53.24. Since all customers are charged for a minimum use of 1,000 gallons, the minimum monthly bill would be $38.24. |
